Serendipity And Rally Cars

Imagine you’re on vacation, enjoying your morning espresso and pastry when you hear the subtle rumble of a tuned 4-cylinder and the squeak of sticky tires on smooth marble roads. Then, a Mk1 Ford Escort and an Audi Sport Quattro in full livery casually roll by. I quickly settle my tab, grab my pastry, and rush down the narrow streets trying to figure out where they were headed.

Following the echoes was a little hard at first, but it led me straight to the city center where I was greeted with the starting gate and gallery assembling. What I found was the starting line for the Oviedo stage of the Rally de Asturias. I spent the next few hours just taking it all in.

A top highlight was seeing the Ford Escort, Audi Sport Quattro, and finally getting to see my dream car in person - an Alpine A110.
