Joint venture

Initiatives that lead to our joint venture

In late 2015, joined a small health initiative inside of Comcast Strategic Business Development as a product UX design specialist helping them pilot several health-focused programs.

Initially, I helped the Web RTC & syndication team's platforms productize their offerings for our needs. With the web RTC team, I helped build a proof of concept to use their technology to power a video calling & messaging platform that could be utilized for Telemedicine. The video syndication team needed to improve their embedded play to support playlists within the player interface.

A key priority for both pilots was that they passed high accessibility standards. To accomplish this, I partnered with Comcast Accessibility Team to conduct frequent design reviews and integrated them into our QA work streams.

Starting A Platform

Additional After the success we saw my-pregancy.org and Kiaser Perminanente. We started to scale our efforts by taking the core functionality and backing it with a configurable backend Content management system and rules engine so we could apply the same principles to any number of health conditions and events. It is from this effort the seeds of Quil started to take place.
